B!tch on the Street

Days and nights in New York City are tough enough without having to deal with all the sh!t this city dishes up. B!tch on the Street tells the tale of two ladies making their way through this crazy town...one freak at a time.

The Rat...

Do other cities have these? There has to be more than one because any time ANY union is protesting ANYthing, they bring out the big, inflatable rat. This rat was protesting a Bank of America using "questionable" workers to clean air ducts. The air duct union wasn't having that, so they got a rat and one lone dude to shout about the "injustice" and hand out fliers. Which no one took. And if they did, they then threw them in the street. Creating more litter.

I wanted to say to the union guy, "Where are all the other union workers?" but I actually felt sorry for him. I mean, it couldn't have been easy to blow that rat up by himself and THEN anchor that ba$tard, stand there in the cold and hand out fliers that nobody wanted.

Oh well...just another day here in NYC.

Happy Monday ya'll!

They broke out the rat here in MSP during the whole Northwest Airlines strike. People used to throw stuff at it when they drove by.

Have you read the book RATS? It's all about rats in Manhattan. Which are both gross and fascinating.

I think union workers poke out the rats eyes because they're so angry. Just kidding..it probably has eyes, just my pic came out a little overexposed.

They had one of these in Boston once.

And the fat, lazy ass union members who are layed off get paid $50/hour to protest against some non-union people who make $25/hour under the table.

Ummmm, I have been in Chicago for a little over 5 years, and I've never seen a giant blow-up rat here... maybe I'm not looking in the right places though.

I don't frequent union protests all that often.

Is there such a thing as a happy union worker, ever? I never saw a group of people bitch and moan about life as much as unions do. Perhaps if it sucks so much, you should get out of the union...and take that creepy inflated rat with you. Brilliant concept, huh?

You never see ppl using inflatable animals to protest things in other countries.

It's always bombs, or looting, or fire. ~yawn~
We're sooo much more evolved.

On the way to work every morning i see one of those big rats. They are building some big Mall (like we need more of those in NJ). I like the rat though. I wave to him every morning. I even named him Bob.

so i've been trying to find out what's up with the inflatable rats? are they just to indicate that the building needs to clean it's air ducts or something? i'm kind of confused.
